Thank you to all who supported our Spring Ball 28th April 2012. It was more amazing than our opening night! So many people!! Of course, we didn’t get too many pictures as we were all too busy dancing which is a good thing! Next time, i must remember my camera! Special thanks to the lovely students who did shows – our jive ladies, our couples who did Waltz & Cha Cha demonstrations too! You were all fabulous!

Book on any 8 week Ballroom & Latin Course in May and received two Friday night socials* for FREE!!! An evening of dance where you can practise your steps, dance with the teachers, ask any questions, snacks, bring your own wine if you wish!! 8:45pm, – 10:15pm every Friday!! Exciting news!!!! With all the success from the current Saturday Swing Series, CDS is introducing its very own West Coast Swing freestyle night.

An evening dedicated entirely to the love and dance West Coast Swing!!

So make sure you reserve the dates in your dance diaries!!

Dates are as follows:

Evening starts: 8pm – 11:30pm , £10pp

23rd June 2012

14th July 2012

Please make sure you book in advance by just sending us a quick email from our contact us page to let us know you are coming. There is plenty of space, but due to it’s popularity we need to keep track of numbers.

West Coast Swing Success!!

What an absolutely brilliant time we all had tonight!! The Taster Class was full a week before the class even took place, and the even more people attended the freestyle until late!

Taster Beginner Class

It all started with a clear and concise breakdown of the steps taught by Paul Farrell and his lovely assistant Suzie.

Everyone had an opportunity to dance with someone as we rotated partnes very easily as one can in West Coast Swing. The nerves were soon overcome by Paul & Suzie’s clear descriptions of the basic steps.

The class lasted one hour, in which everyone had a chance to practise their moves for two more hours after.

The night just getting started

Many of the beginners soon realised that dancing the steps the learning the basic steps were two very different things as the WEST COAST SWING is about getting into a groove – literally!

The night just getting started!!It didn’t take long for any single ladies or men to get on the dance floor as many of the more seasoned dancers who joined us from other schools got them up dancing.

Night is well underway!!

It was a resounding success, but most of all we are so pleased to have this style at our school because it is a personal favourite of ours.

Special thanks to Paul & Suzie and to all the people who attended and made it a night to remember.

Congratulations to Medal Test Students!!

We are so proud of our students who worked hard preparing their dances over the past few months. On the 28th of October they all took their Medal Examinations. We were also pleased to welcome Yvonne Saunders, IDTA Examiner to our studio who examined all the dancers.

The evening continued after the examinations and everyone wound down with a night of social dancing.

Well done to all of you.

New Street Dance for Adults

Introducing our new Street Dance teacher Isla Selley who will be teaching every Thursday evening from 7:30 – 8:30pm starting 6th October. It should be exciting and fun as Isla comes to us from Italia Conti and has loads of performing experience.
